Liverpool Beat The Champions In Style

Roberto Firmino was at his best as Liverpool completely outclassed champions. Leicester couldn’t compete against the pace and aggression with which the reds were playing.

It was Liverpool’s first match in their huge new main stand and the atmosphere was beautiful. The fans were right behind the team and the players played with passion.

Firmino scored twice, Mane and Lallana each got one to their names as Liverpool raced past Leicester city. Although it is too early to call, but one shouldn’t write Liverpool off as Klopp’s side is capable of competing for the title.

It took Liverpool only 13 minutes to score as Firmino got at the end of Milner’s ball and beat Schmeichel with ease. Amartey was at fault for the goal as the defender didn’t know where the Brazilian was.

Mane doubled Liverpool’s advantage with a beautifully crafted team effort. The move saw some beautiful link-up and finally Sturridge put Mane through with a cheeky back-heel and the forward scored with a chip over the keeper.

Leicester did have their moment as Lucas made a poor mistake and Vardy capitalized on the midfielder’s error. The foxes got back in the match and the fans though that they had leveled it but Huth’s header hit the bar after a dangerous thrown from Hernandez.

Liverpool made it 3-1 in the 56th minute as Lallana scored with a shot ending up in Schmeichel’s top corner. The former Southampton man has been rejuvenated under Klopp and is terrorizing opposition.

Even with a two-goal advantage, Klopp got a scare as Vardy was through on goal with only Mignolet to beat. However, the Liverpool keeper did brilliantly to deny the forward and make sure that Leicester’s comeback is off the cards.

Liverpool finished Leicester off in style as Mane dodged Schmeichel and passed to Firmino who scored his second goal of the night.

Klopp has definitely done wonders with his new side offensively as Liverpool’s passing and movement was sublime and scored some beautiful goals. However, the defense is still a concern as they don’t look confident at the back.

Meanwhile, Ranieri has a lot to ponder as last season they lost only thrice while his team has been handed two defeats in the first four games this time around.

It seemed as if Leicester was distracted by their UCL fixture next week and on top of it, the atmosphere affected the visitor’s game as they were poor in the first half.
