KSC sign O’Shaughnessy

Karlsruher SC have strengthened their defence with the signing of centre-back Daniel O’Shaugnessy. The 27-year-old Finn joins from HJK Helsinki and is expected to provide stability in the centre of defence

O’Shaugnessy thus heats up the competition in central defence. Alongside Christoph Kobald, veteran Daniel Gordon, the currently injured Robin Bormuth and youngster Felix Irorere, a quintet is now vying for the two places in the Baden side.

Christan Eichner expects left-footed O’Shaugnessy to be “fit for the start of the rest of the season and to help us further”. The KSC coach certainly says this because of the many goals he has conceded, 28 in the 18 games so far.

The Finn, an 18-time international, has signed a contract at the Wildpark until 30 June 2023.
