Tennis player Tamara Korpatsch defeated the number two seed, Emiliana Arango from Colombia, at the WTA tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The 30-year-old from Hamburg won 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals, where she will face Caty McNally (USA/No. 6).
Korpatsch had defeated Anna Siskova (Czechia) 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. After qualifier Mona Barthel lost in the first round and top seed Tatjana Maria lost in the round of 16, Korpatsch (WTA No. 124) is the last remaining German in the tournament, which has a prize fund of $283,347.
