In the under-63 kg category, both German judokas were knocked out in their second bouts.

The wait for a first medal continues for the German judokas at the World Championships in Baku. On the fourth day of competition, Friederike Stolze and Sara-Joy Bauer were both knocked out in the second round of the under-63kg category.

Stolze initially defeated Melika Balali (Olympic Refugee Team) in just 24 seconds, but then lost to Gangkaich Bold from Mongolia, the 2025 World Championship bronze medallist. Bauer, who is Stolze’s club mate at TSG Backnang, defeated Skye Knoester from South Africa in her first bout in Azerbaijan. Her run came to an end against Laura Fazliu from Kosovo, the bronze medallist at the Paris Olympics.
