Judo team fails in the semi-finals

It was a clear-cut affair: The German mixed team failed to reach the final at the Judo World Championships.

The German mixed team missed out on the fight for the gold medal at the Judo World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

After a 0:4 against Japan, the DJV team was eliminated in the semi-finals and will fight for bronze against China.

After victories in the preliminary round against Mongolia (4:2) and Ukraine (4:0), Japan, which had won silver in the mixed competition at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, was clearly superior and, as before, did not give up a fight against the Dominican Republic and the Netherlands. In the final, Japan will meet Olympic champion France.

The German team, which won bronze in Tokyo, still has a chance to win its second medal at this World Championships at the end of the tournament. So far, Katharina Menz has won one medal (silver in the 48 kg category).
