In Lakers defeat: LeBron James overtakes Malone – Kleber with Dallas without a chance

LeBron James reached another milestone, but could not prevent the defeat of the Los Angeles Lakers against the Washington Wizards. Dallas around Maximilian Kleber were without a chance in Charlotte despite a well-performing Luka Doncic.

Superstar LeBron James has moved up to second place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He overtook Karl Malone, who scored 36,928 points in his career, in the world’s best basketball league in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 119-127 loss to the Washington Wizards on Saturday. James now has 36,947 points in 1363 games and an average of 27.1 per game.

He has only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ahead of him, who scored 38,387 points in 1560 NBA games – an average of 25.3. It is not out of the question that James will still reach that record. “I’m not going to allow myself to think about it,” he said. “I hope to achieve that at some point in my career, but I’m not going to think about it too much.”

The best European is Dirk Nowitzki in sixth place. The German basketball icon recorded 31,560 points in 21 seasons for the Dallas Mavericks.

James scored a total of 38 points on Saturday night, but could not prevent another defeat for his Lakers. Despite leading by 16 points at one point, the stumbling team let the game slip away and conceded its 29th loss of the season. “We had such a good opportunity to get more momentum,” James said. The lead over the tenth-placed New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference is only marginal. If the team slips to eleventh, the playoffs would be without the Lakers.

Despite 37 points by Doncic: Mavericks lose in Charlotte

German national player Maximilian Kleber also had nothing to show for his efforts on Sunday night. Kleber lost with the Dallas Mavericks at the Charlotte Hornets with 108:129.

Luka Doncic did well again, the Slovenian scored 37 points and grabbed four rebounds. After the second loss on the weekend, Kleber is in fifth place in the West with 43 wins and 28 losses.

“Luka was very good, but unfortunately nobody joined him,” said Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and demanded more performance from the team: “There will be nights when he doesn’t score or scores over 30 points. “
