The ongoing feud between Shaquille O’Neal and Rudy Gobert continues. In his podcast, he once again attacked the big man.
“I hate Rudy Gobert,” Shaq said, adding the appropriate explanation: “He makes $250 million, and he doesn’t deserve it. As president of the Big Man Alliance, I say: If you make that kind of money, play like a big man. It’s that simple,” he continued.
“Throw an elbow. Knock a few people down. Don’t let little white guys from Denver push you around and then talk trash to you. And then you have to grab him by the throat at the last moment. When you get the big money, you have to play big,” he explained.
Shaq and Gobert have a long history
The feud between the two big men has been simmering for years, as O’Neal has repeatedly questioned the Frenchman’s abilities. Just last September, Shaq called Gobert the “worst player of all time” and said he had no respect for “guys like that.” He had also taken shots at Gobert several times before.
Last season, he averaged 12.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game and reached the Western Conference Finals with the Timberwolves. He is still under contract for the next three years and $109 million, with a player option for the third year.
