Honda confirms: Marc Marquez will miss the MotoGP race in Argentina!

Marc Marquez has to miss the Argentine Grand Prix after crashing in Indonesia – An examination in Barcelona nevertheless provides confidence

Ex-MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez will not be able to compete in the Argentine Grand Prix at Termas de Rio Hondo. Honda confirmed this three days before the start of practice in South America. HRC test rider Stefan Bradl is expected to take over the factory Honda at the third race of the current season.

Marquez had himself examined a second time in Barcelona on Monday. “At this re-examination, Doctor Sanchez Dalmau confirmed that Marc Márquez’s diplopia has improved significantly and that the evolution of his vision is very positive,” Honda informs.

“As with the last episode of diplopia, Marc Marquez will continue with conservative treatment with regular check-ups,” Honda announces, ruling out surgery. However, forgoing the third and presumably also the fourth (Austin) race weekend of the season is unavoidable.

“The recovery is not yet complete, as Marc Marquez must follow a conservative treatment,” warns Doctor Sanchez Dalmau.

The latest diplopia was caused by a highsider in the warm-up of the Indonesian Grand Prix. Marquez then missed already the second MotoGP race of the season.
