Honda confirms: Marc Marquez to make MotoGP comeback in Austin!

After a positive test with the Supersport bike, Honda factory rider Marc Marquez travels to Texas and plans to take part in the Grand Prix in Austin

Marquez Marquez is set to make his comeback to MotoGP. The Spaniard has been given the green light to get back on his Honda RC213V after a successful test with a Honda CBR600RR at Alcarras. After missing two races, Marquez plans to make his return in Austin (USA).

“Of course I am very happy to return. It’s a great feeling to be back, especially at one of my all-time favourite tracks,” commented the former champion. “No matter what the situation is, I enjoy driving in Texas and have incredible memories of it. “

“I missed two races and the whole Argentina weekend. So there is a lot of work ahead. I’m not setting any goals for now,” Marquez clarifies. “There are many things that need to be done and taken care of. The important thing is to be back in the mix this weekend.”

The Austin circuit is one of the number 93’s absolute paradise tracks, and with the exception of a crash at the race in the 2019 season, Marquez has won all races at the Texas circuit. The Spaniard last won at the Circuit of the Americas last year.

Due to missing the races in Indonesia and Argentina, Marquez only travels to the USA in 15th place in the riders’ standings. After a fifth place at the season opener in Qatar, a weekend full of crashes followed in Indonesia. After crashing in warm-up, the fourth departure of the weekend, Marquez had to cancel his race participation and also missed the race in Argentina.
