With 380 matches to be scheduled in the Premier League, England’s top flight announced its schedule for the upcoming 2025/26 season on Wednesday morning. The Premier League kicks off the new season on the weekend of August 16 and 17, meaning there are 83 days between the final whistle of the old season and the kickoff of the new one.
There is great anticipation to see whether the newly formed Liverpool FC can defend its title. The Reds will open the season on Friday, August 15, with a home game against last year’s ninth-placed AFC Bournemouth. The upcoming record signing Florian Wirtz will therefore make his debut at Anfield Road.
