Hoffenheim promote Asllani

Just 19-years-old striker Fisnik Asllani takes the next step in his career.

Three times Fisnik Asllani appeared in Hoffenheim’s matchday line-up in the past Hinrunde, the 19-year-old made his Bundesliga debut in the 2-0 home win against RB Leipzig when he was substituted shortly before the end. Now TSG have given the talent the next step in his development, promoting the striker from the U-23s to the professional squad with immediate effect. After Tuesday off, Asllani will complete his first training session as a new member of head coach Sebastian Hoeneß’ ensemble this Wednesday.

“Fisnik is a highly talented player with a very interesting striker profile, as he combines many components of a classic number 9. He already made a strong impression in the summer preparation, so that there was already concrete consideration of integrating him permanently into the professional squad in August last year. Unfortunately, a knee injury he suffered in the test match against Stade Reims set him back a few weeks,” explained manager Alexander Rosen, “Fisnik is another example of our way of identifying young talents, developing them carefully and calmly and finally integrating them into the professional squad. “

Contract until 2024

Asllani is an almost ambidextrous centre-forward, yet agile and quick despite his stately height of 1.88m. Born in Berlin of Kosovar descent, Asllani first played for BFC Dynamo, moved to Union Berlin in 2016 and finally to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2020, where he has a contract until 2024.

Asllani first played internationals for Kosovo as a junior international, but was most recently on duty for the DFB U18s.
