The Griddy is extremely popular with amateur gamers and eSports players alike—and is considered the crown jewel of virtual mockery. In order to use the celebration in FUT in FC 26, FC 25 must first be played.
The Griddy as paid content in EA SPORTS FC 26? A rumor that had persisted in recent weeks – but has now been refuted. Instead of being able to purchase it on the transfer market or pull it from packs, the celebration will not be available at all in the new Football Ultimate Team (FUT). The Griddy must be earned in FC 25 for FC 26.
To continue celebrating goals in a crouched position, with arms swinging and fingers forming peepholes in front of the eyes, EA SPORTS is introducing the “Griddy to Glory” series of challenges. This can be viewed in the Ultimate Team live objectives and consists of two parts: the “Griddy to Glory Daily Match” and the “Griddy to Glory Daily Complete Package.”
Clever move to boost engagement
The Daily Challenge task requires you to either win three games or play six games in the “Griddy to Glory Cup.” If you complete this challenge five times, you will also complete the Complete Package. This unlocks the Griddy for FC 26 and, in addition to small rewards, also gives you a Futties card of Ronaldinho.
You have until September 9 to complete the series of tasks and win the Griddy in FC 26. This is a clever move by EA SPORTS to keep player engagement high in the final weeks of the outgoing title, which was unusually low in FC 25. The FUT community seems largely amused.
“Insane,” but probably a must for many players
“I have to download FC 25 again to get the Griddy celebration for FC 26?” asks X user ‘FCJaymes’. He then nonchalantly states that EA SPORTS has him “by the balls.” Content creator ‘ZwebackHD’ jokingly calls the developer’s approach “insane” – but announces that he will complete the tasks.
Most posts are warnings to other FUT players that the celebration will soon be unusable without activity in FC 25. Hundreds of comments under the posts demonstrate the importance of the Griddy in the community. At major eSports events, some participants even perform it in real life—such as New Falcon Anders Vejrgang.
