Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz are aiming for their first Grand Slam title together at the US Open. The German Davis Cup doubles pair also won their semi-final against Rajeev Ram (USA) and Joe Salisbury (Great Britain) 6–3, 6–4, reaching the final in New York for the second time. In 2024, Krawietz and Pütz lost the final there in two sets.
This time, they will face either Harri Heliövaara (Finland) and Henry Patten (Great Britain) or Christian Harrison (USA) and Neal Skupski (Great Britain) in the title match. The two pairs will play their semi-finals on Thursday night.
For Krawietz/Pütz, the pair from Coburg and Frankfurt, their greatest joint success to date is their triumph at the 2024 ATP Finals. Krawietz is also a two-time French Open winner alongside his former partner Andreas Mies.
Krawietz and Pütz are part of national coach Michael Kohlmann’s Davis Cup team, which will be battling it out against Croatia in Halle/Westphalia next week to qualify for the final tournament in Bologna in November.
