Fury challenges Usyk

Former champion Tyson Fury wants to return to the ring after his retirement and is seeking a third duel with Oleksandr Usyk.

Former world boxing champion Tyson Fury has reiterated his desire for a third duel with undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“Huge respect to Oleksandr Usyk,” Fury said in an Instagram video after the Ukrainian’s knockout victory over Daniel Dubois on Saturday. However, Usyk knows “there’s only one man who can beat him. I’ve done it twice and the world knows it.”

Usyk had defeated Fury (34 wins in 37 professional fights, two losses and one draw) on points in the first two fights in May and December last year, but even then the “Gypsy King” had claimed victory in both cases.

Fury (36) initially retired, but recently announced his comeback and set his sights on a third fight against Usyk.

With his victory in the first duel, Usyk (38) crowned himself undisputed world champion for the first time, and he did so again against Dubois. The WBA, WBC and WBO title holder snatched the IBF belt from the Brit with his early success in the fifth round.
