Tottenham Hotspur are digging deep into their pockets for Mohammed Kudus (25). The attacking player is coming from city rivals West Ham.
Thomas Frank, successor to the sacked Ange Postecoglou, has got his first wish player: Mohammed Kudus, attacking player from West Ham United, is moving to Spurs for the equivalent of around 64 million euros.
The Hammers are making a profit of over €20 million, having signed Kudus from Ajax for around €41 million in 2023. Since then, Kudus, who still had a contract until 2028, has played 80 games for the Hammers and scored 27 goals.
Now Kudus is moving from east to north London, where the Ghanaian footballer of the year has signed a long-term contract with Spurs and will wear the number 20 shirt. The Europa League winners did not disclose the exact duration of the deal.
At Tottenham, Kudus, who scored only five goals last season, is expected to revitalize the offense with his speed and strong left foot. For him personally, it will initially be a return to an unloved place. Last season, Kudus was sent off for violent conduct in a 4-1 defeat to Spurs, in which he had scored the opening goal, and was suspended for three games.
Gibbs-White the next new signing?
In addition to Kudus, Spurs have another attacking player on their radar. According to The Athletic, Morgan Gibbs-White, midfielder for Nottingham Forest and England international, is set to undergo a medical on Friday. The 25-year-old has a fixed transfer fee of €70 million. Tottenham are therefore facing a costly squad overhaul.
