Four-pack Motika: Bayern give Schweinfurt no chance

By winning the top match in Schweinfurt 6:3, FC Bayern II defended their lead in the Bavarian Regionalliga and extended their lead over Unterfranken. Man of the evening in Schweinfurt: Motika, who scored four of the six Bayern goals.

Schweinfurt started furiously and had three chances in the first ten minutes. First Fery put the ball just past the post, then Böhnlein missed a cross by inches before a Böhnlein header was cleared on the line. There was little to see from Bayern at first – until the 18th minute: Motika’s shot was cleared by Schweinfurt keeper Zwick with a foot save, but he was powerless to deal with the latter’s follow-up shot.

It was a competitive game in which the visitors from Munich had their strongest phase around the 30th minute and also had further chances. First, however, the ball was in the FCB goal, but Jabiri was offside. Only a short time later, the league leaders rejoiced: Tillman took advantage of a fatal back pass by Fery to make it 2:0 (39.). Schweinfurt came back before the break, Böhnlein converted an Adlung backpass from the byline (42nd).

Top game worthy of the name

The top game was entertaining – also in the second half. And Motika turned up the heat. First he scored with a shot into the right corner of the goal (58th), then he held out his foot after a Tillman cross (60th), and shortly before the end he scored his fourth goal with a low shot after a step-over (86th). In the meantime, wild card Zietsch had reduced the score to 2:4 for Schweinfurt, Jabiri made it 3:5 in the 90th minute. The final point? No! Aydin circled a free kick into the corner of the goal. A spectacular end to a top match that deserved the name
