Arminius Rolle has capped off the greatest night of his career so far by winning his first professional title. The 16-year-old from Berlin has thus cemented his reputation as one of the greatest talents in German boxing.

Arminius Rolle has won his first professional boxing title. On Saturday in Aschersleben, the 16-year-old Berliner prevailed against the Bosnian Amijan Sepic to secure the International German Super-Lightweight Championship.

For Rolle, it was the most important fight of his career to date. It was the young Berliner’s first title fight and the first time a bout had been scheduled for ten rounds. The teenager won by technical knockout in the ninth round against his opponent, who is six years his senior. With this victory, he remains unbeaten on the professional circuit and continues his meteoric rise.

Rolle claims his first title

“This is a huge step for me,” said the 16-year-old. He also spoke of a “huge opportunity to box for a title and make a bit of German and international history”.

Winning the title is the next milestone for the young boxer, who had already attracted attention as a chess-boxing world champion. Despite the great interest in him, Rolle has remained modest of late. He did not want to accept the label of Germany’s greatest boxing hope. “I would never describe myself as Germany’s greatest boxing hope,” he said ahead of the fight.

Nevertheless, Rolle has clearly set out his goals. In the long term, he wants to “become one of Germany’s greatest boxers”. With his first professional title, he has now taken another important step along that path.
