First heavyweight confirms: Ubisoft is coming to gamescom

Ubisoft was the first major international publisher to confirm its participation in gamescom 2024 in Cologne on Thursday. The commitment is hardly surprising – after all, an important release is imminent

GIANTS Software kicked things off a few days ago: The medium-sized company based in Zurich announced to the trade magazine GamesWirtschaft that it will also be present at gamescom 2024 – including Farming Simulator, of course. Now the first international heavyweight in the industry has announced its presence in Cologne: Ubisoft is also coming to the trade fair.

The French publisher had already set up a large stand in the Entertainment Area in 2023 – back then to showcase the racing game The Crew: Motorfest. This year, Ubisoft’s gamescom appearance could also be dedicated to an upcoming release: Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released worldwide on November 15, with pre-access available with Ubisoft+ as early as November 12.

Ubisoft booth in Japanese style?

Last week, the developer released a “Cinematic Reveal Trailer” for the new offshoot of the action-adventure series. The presentation of Assassin’s Creed Shadows from August 21 to 25 would presumably fit perfectly into the schedule. Ubisoft’s participation was confirmed simultaneously on Thursday afternoon via the company’s own channels and by gamescom itself.

No official information is yet known about the French company’s exact line-up in Cologne. However, if the focus is on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, we can expect a stand in the style of 16th century Japan – the setting of the upcoming title. Based on the recent past, it can also be assumed that Ubisoft will also set up a B2B stand in the business area.

We have already worked out why we don’t believe that EA or EA SPORTS will be coming to gamescom in 2024
