Felix Kroos is a guest player at Union Berlin

Felix Kroos played for Union between 2016 and 2020. Now he is returning to the youth department of the Eisernen.

Until the end of last season, Kroos was a professional footballer, most recently in the service of Braunschweig Eintracht. Before that, the 30-year-old played for Union Berlin for four years – and he is now returning to the Eisernen after his career ended.

As the Bundesliga club announced on Monday, Kroos will spend the next three months shadowing under coach André Vilk with the Eisernen’s U-19 juniors. In addition, the brother of world champion Toni Kroos is to gain an insight into Union’s youth work.

Looking forward to “dry humour “

“Felix and I agree that he should stay connected to football and we want to offer him this opportunity with us. I’m looking forward to his dry sense of humour, but above all to the professional exchange with him, and then we’ll see where this joint experience will take us,” said youth head coach André Hofschneider.

Kroos wore the Union jersey in more than 100 games and was involved in the Bundesliga promotion in 2019. Most recently, he had made headlines with his casual chat on the podcast “Einfach mal luppen” with his brother Toni Kroos.
