FC 24 tricked: How Modric is coming to the Erzgebirge after all

Creative salary maneuvers and a virtual transfer coup: How to bring world stars like Luka Modric to your club despite budget limits and game logic – with a simple trick

Cancellation! Virtual second division clubs are grateful when ambitious hobby managers bring big old stars to the FC 24 club to end their careers. The club structure could be damaged because Luka Modric would receive a fabulously high salary – in comparison to the third division climbers. Would Omar Sijaric grumble if he received passes from Modric in future? At least in the virtual club, the management has a stomach ache. But the board’s reasoning gives us scope for a simple trick.

As a virtual manager, however, you have to push away the frustration first: Erzgebirge Aue were promoted from the third division unbeaten, the team was rejuvenated and talented players were developed – the next goal was the Bundesliga. And then the sacking

Because with a fresh budget and ambitions, you ask the virtually aged world stars. They agree that Modric will get his playing time and there are no negotiations on salary: What the Croatian wants, he gets.

24,500 euros is worth a dismissal to the board

But that doesn’t suit EA SPORTS: How illogical – the game thinks: A veteran world star who moves to a weaker league for money, where he is the biggest star? As if something like that would happen in real life…

24,500 per week is what Modric wants – he will arrive without a club in the summer of 2024 and that’s a piece of cake for the club’s budget. However, the discrepancy to a Linus Rosenlöcher with a salary of 1,000 euros for the game is too big. Luckily for us, the FC 24 career mode is ultimately just a table with numbers in nice graphics. And we can take advantage of the mechanics programmed there.

If we take a look around the world of free transfer stars, it becomes clear in FC24 that we can’t fill up an entire gallery like we did in FIFA 23. A Thomas Müller extends his contract directly with FC Bayern, Ronaldo and Messi are tied to their new leagues

How to trick FC 24

This brings us to our trick with the numbers. The board criticizes the large discrepancy between salaries. So what if we “trade up” with other free transfer stars? A certain Sergio Ramos comes to mind. Own body model in FC, great defensive values and always in the way when he has to be. Salary demand: 9,000 euros. That’s not as far away from last year’s new signings as the 24,000.

Ramos arrives, brief trepidation: Will the board bless the deal? Yes! Then it continues: the next on the shopping list could be Juan Cuadrado, fast and a strong dribbler. His salary demand: 14,000 euros. No problem for the newly promoted team and the board has nothing to complain about either – after all, the new discrepancy to Ramos is only 5,000 euros.

This signing clears the way for Modric. In the context of FC 24, Rösenlöcher and Martin Männel are no longer complaining, because the other newcomers are already getting a bigger check than them…

Modric comes with an overall rating of around 85 and, by second division standards, unbelievable values in everything you could wish for from midfield to forward. Precise interface passes, excellent overview, Trivela+ and good finishing values.

A bonus of 20 million for free

As a bonus, there’s a smile about the game on top: In virtual Aue, the three new signings brought in revenue through shirt sales of €20 million (!) on the first day. This means that every financial goal of the board has been met immediately.

In all honesty, the absurdity of this cannot be surpassed. Commitments that will catapult the club years into the future in sporting and economic terms – that’s a dismissal! So let’s get creative and play a little trickery. The virtual Modric becomes the star of the upcoming Bundesliga promotion. How realistic that is remains to be seen.

The trick in the system certainly shows that EA SPORTS FC 24 should not be seen as a simulation, but as a dream factory. And who would say no to Modric, Ramos and Cuadrado in their own second division club?
