A glitch allows players to bypass the upgrade evolution requirements from the Bundesliga Cup in FC 25. This also increases the rating of TOTS Evo cards – and causes them to disappear from the market.
Normally, the evolution to the TOTS upgrade from the Bundesliga Cup only allows “real” TOTS cards with a maximum rating of 93. This means items in the TOTS, TOTS Highlights, or TOTS Honorable Mentions categories. However, some FUT players have found a way to apply the boost to TOTS Evo cards that are explicitly excluded.
The upgrade is unlocked by winning eleven matches in the Bundesliga Cup. It gives the respective item an additional point for its overall rating and all base values. According to EA SPORTS’ plan, however, this is only available for a small selection of TOTS cards. How can this be circumvented?
Camouflage through cosmetic evolution
First, either “TOTS+ Evolution Recolor” (35,000 coins) or “TOTS+” (25,000 coins) must be purchased in the cosmetics section. One of the two evolutions is applied to the desired card, which should change its rarity from “TOTS Evo” to “Team of the Season.” This will add it to the selection for the Bundesliga Cup upgrade.
Button mashing with finesse
Now, select an item that has already been approved to preview the evolution. Then, go back one step to select the TOTS Evo item you just customized. If you then mash the buttons with XA, an error message will appear at first.
Now you need some patience and the right rhythm: The chances are said to be particularly high if you slow down after mashing quickly. Eventually, a grayed-out placeholder card should appear, and you can begin the evolution. Some Reddit users report that this process was faster on older consoles.
Theo becomes a FUT beast once again
The boost of one point to the overall rating and basic attributes is not outstanding in itself. However, the community has already found its favorite item for this: Theo Hernandez’s TOTW card, which could make it into the Serie A TOTS on Friday evening.
The Evo “The Wall” can boost the item to 93 points in the overall rating and turn it into a TOTS Evo card. After that, it is eligible for the new glitch – and Hernandez can once again become the absolute FUT beast on the left back. This is also causing movement on the transfer market.
There, the price of the Milan pro’s TOTW card skyrocketed by 200,000 coins on Thursday. That was before it reached “Extinct” status. This means that it can currently only be sniped at the maximum buyout price. The same applies to the slightly weaker gold version of Hernandez, whose price also doubled beforehand.
