Ducati: Aruba extends WSBK sponsorship and shows MotoGP livery

MotoGP test rider Michele Pirro’s Ducati Desmosedici will be painted in WSBK livery for guest starts – Ducati has planning security in the World Superbike Championship

Ducati can continue to count on main sponsor Aruba in the Superbike World Championship. Immediately before the MotoGP home race in Mugello, the Italians announce a new two-year contract with the IT company. But the Superbike World Championship is not enough for Aruba. The distinctive logo will also be seen in the MotoGP.

Ducati test rider Michele Pirro’s Desmosedici will be painted in Aruba colours at the Italian Grand Prix. And Pirro will also compete in the WSBK livery at his other events in Barcelona in June and Misano in September.

The new contract for the World Superbike Championship is a relief for Ducati and provides planning security. At the start of the season, rumours were circulating that Aruba would reconsider its commitment to the production-based championship. But Ducati can rely on Aruba until at least the end of 2024.

“We are really satisfied with the long-term partnership that has united us with Aruba for the last eight years,” commented Ducati Managing Director Claudio Domenicali. “Aruba is a company that, like Ducati, stands for Italian excellence and innovation. The extension of the contract until 2024 confirms the quality of a partnership that has evolved year after year in both business and sporting terms. “

“In addition to the extensive involvement in the World Superbike Championship, a new challenge will be added this season in the World Supersport Championship,” notes Domenicali, who is looking forward to seeing the WSBK livery in MotoGP at the Mugello, Barcelona and Misano races.
