Doping control at the German team hotel

After FIFA on Friday, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) came on Saturday: A total of eight German national team players were tested for banned substances.

As the DFB announced on Saturday afternoon, the German national team’s team hotel in Hamburg received an unannounced visit from NADA doping control officers on Saturday. Six national players had to give urine samples to the doping hunters, two of them also had to give blood samples.

This brings the number of tested German players to eight within 24 hours. Immediately after the 2-1 victory over Romania in the World Cup qualifiers on Friday evening, two German national players were ordered to submit to doping tests. These two tests were carried out by FIFA inspectors.

The German national team will leave for northern Macedonia by plane on Sunday. In the capital Skopje, the eleven of national coach Hansi Flick will meet the North Macedonian selection on Monday evening. For the national team, this is a chance for revenge; in the first leg at the end of March in Duisburg, the DFB team lost 2-1 in the last World Cup qualifier under Joachim Löw.
