“Deeply sad”: Crailsheim centre Radosavljevic has to retire

Sad news for Basketball-Bundesligist Crailsheim: veteran Bogdan Radosavljevic has to end his career for health reasons.

Center Bogdan Radosavljevic of HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim has to end his basketball career due to arthritis in his shoulder. According to the Bundesliga club on Thursday evening, renewed examinations have shown a clear deterioration. The doctors had therefore advised the 30-year-old former national player to end his career.

Radosavljevic was one of the greatest German basketball talents in his youth and was trained at FC Bayern. He played seven times for the German senior national team and was under contract with the Tigers Tübingen and Alba Berlin, among others. With Crailsheim, for whom he played since 2020, the big man celebrated the vice cup victory in 2022.

“We are deeply saddened by this development. Boggy was one of our most important players in recent years, both on and off the field,” said Crailsheim sporting director Ingo Enskat. “The Merlins family, of which he will always be a part, wishes him and his family only the best for life after basketball and is glad that he has found his home in Crailsheim.”

The club had already signed Canadian Prince Oduro last week as a replacement for the injured Radosavljevic.
