Dabrowski remains coach at Hannover 96

Hannover 96 trusts Christoph Dabrowski until the end of the season. The club is convinced “that a development has been started”.

After Jan Zimmermann’s departure from the Lower Saxons, Dabrowski had been in charge of the 96ers on an interim basis and had picked up two wins from the last three games. That was enough for those responsible at Hannover – even though they had to cope with a 1:4 defeat against Werder Bremen – to appoint Dabrowski as their new coach until the end of the season.

Dabrowski has been with Hannover for many years and has been in charge of the club’s U23s since the summer of 2018. His successor has not yet been announced by the club.

“In the past few weeks, you could see very well that it was simply a good fit with Christoph Dabrowski. We are convinced that a development has begun that is going in the right direction,” explained sporting director Marcus Mann. “The constructive cooperation in the coaching team and with the team are good prerequisites for a successful second half of the season.”

“We were internally quite transparent and open in our exchange throughout the past period. I am pleased that they have placed their trust in me,” Dabrowski is quoted as saying by the club. “Now it’s a matter of moving away from the lower ranks as quickly as possible. That will only be possible with a lot of diligence and hard work. “

Zimmermann was sacked after only four months at Hannover. In five wins, the Lower Saxons lost seven games and drew five times.
