Chelsea and Juventus keen on each other’s players – Kante, Pjanic, Rugani, Higuain

After splashing €112 million on Cristiano Ronaldo, some of Juventus’ untouchables have become available. Gonzalo Higuain has been in the transfer news as a potential target for Chelsea and AC Milan. Now, it’s Miralem Pjanic who has been put on the trade block. Once again, Chelsea is interested.

Miralem Pjanic to Chelsea, N’Golo Kante to Juventus

Maurizio Sarri’s squad is in desperate need of some midfield creativity, something the Bosnian would definitely bring with him to England. The €80 million Juve are asking could be more than The Blues would be willing to spend, yet there’s a solution.

Massimiliano Allegri would love to see N’Golo Kante in a Juventus jersey. Everyone is after the Frenchman who has become a household name in the world of football and the Italian champions are no exception. Add Daniele Rugani to the puzzle, a player on top of Sarri’s wish list, and you see how keen Chelsea and Juventus are on each other’s players.

At least Chelsea can be calm knowing Manchester City has no interest in Miralem Pjanic. Asked if he was interested in him, Guardiola responded:

“No, Pjanic is a player of Juventus in Turin.”

“We are not interested in Pjanic. Saying that, he is a top player, but we are not interested.”

Daniele Rugani to Chelsea

Rugani’s €50 million move is nearly complete. Chelsea initially offered €40 million, a bid that Juventus rejected. However, the improved offer should seal the deal. Once it’s made official, it will be the first domino to fall. We’ll see whether others do too.

Chelsea transfer news

Daniele Rugani would be Sarri’s second signing since coming over to England’s capital, as he brought Jorginho with him from Napoli. Those additions are good, but they’ll be worth little if Chelsea loses its star players.

Barcelona signing Malcom means the Catalans have given up on Willian, which is good news, but there are other buyers on the market as well. Hazard and Courtois are on vacation right now, making things even more complicated. Anything can happen when they come back. Maurizio Sarri mentioned on a couple of occasions he prefers to talk to players in person, rather than on the phone. He’ll try to convince them to stay, but the Belgians might come back from vacation with pre-determined Real Madrid mindsets.

In general, Chelsea’s new Italian manager is still assessing the squad, meaning more players might hit the market.
