Cadillac has announced the signing of Tyler Epp—the long-time president of the Miami Grand Prix will be the team’s head of commercial strategy.
The Cadillac Formula 1 team, which will make its debut in the world championship in 2026, has announced the signing of Tyler Epp. The former president of the Miami Grand Prix joins the team as Global Head of Commercial Strategy.
Epp had been president of the Miami Grand Prix since its inaugural race in 2022. The event at Hard Rock Stadium has grown steadily since then, attracting large crowds and generating four of the five largest live TV audience ratings in the US in the history of Formula 1. Earlier this year, the Grand Prix signed a contract extension that secures its presence on the Formula 1 calendar until 2041.
Prior to his time as president of the Miami GP, Epp spent over two decades in senior management positions in various sports. These included stints with the Kansas City Chiefs (football), the San Diego Padres (baseball), Hall of Fame Racing (NASCAR), Sports Management Network, and Chip Ganassi Racing.
“I’ve spent so much of my career in motorsports and have helped redefine what US motorsports can be in recent years,” says Epp, emphasizing, “I can’t imagine a more exciting and promising opportunity to strengthen our sport in the US and beyond than this one.”
“The Cadillac Formula 1 team is poised to become a global force in Formula 1—rooted in American tradition and innovation. I am incredibly proud to be part of this project from the very beginning,” said Epp.
Lowdon: Epp “a crucial addition to our team”
Dan Towriss, CEO of the Cadillac F1 team and TWG Motorsport, adds: “We couldn’t have found a better leader and visionary to build the commercial side of our team.”
“His work in making the Miami Grand Prix one of the top events on the Formula 1 calendar demonstrates his exceptional expertise in the sport, both in the US and globally,” said Towriss.
Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon explains: “It takes exceptional leadership to build a successful team from the ground up. And it takes someone special to execute the kind of vision and ambition we have for the Cadillac Formula 1 team.“
”Tyler has a proven track record of building organizations that set the standard in Formula 1. I am convinced that his operational expertise will be a decisive asset to our team,” Lowdon emphasizes. Cadillac will make its Formula 1 debut in 2026 with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas. IndyCar star Colton Herta has also signed as a test driver for the new US team.
