BVB: Technical problems paralyse ticket sales

Borussia Dortmund has been caught out by temporary technical problems in ticket sales ahead of Saturday’s home match against Mainz.

The online shop experienced problems on Monday during the ordering process for one-day tickets for Saturday’s match against Rheinhessen, BVB announced on social media. At 2.20pm, the Champions League contender then gave the “all-clear”: “Order process should now run smoothly again.” The Westphalians are allowed to host up to 67,028 spectators at Signal-Iduna-Park due to the new Corona Protection Ordinance.

According to the protection order, the club is allowed to fill the seats completely, standing room 50 per cent. The eight-time champions are relying on the 3G rule.

Dortmund could have already filled its stadium with the same number of spectators for the match against FC Augsburg about one and a half weeks ago, but this was no longer possible due to the short notice. Instead, 41,000 fans attended the 2-1 win against FCA.
