The boxer is alleged to have injured his ex-girlfriend in June.
Gervonta Davis, undefeated lightweight world boxing champion, has apparently been arrested. According to several US media reports on Friday, the 30-year-old was taken into custody in Miami.
Davis is accused of assault and domestic violence.
The 30-year-old is said to have caused a disturbance outside his ex-girlfriend’s house on June 15 when he went to pick up his two children. After an argument, Davis allegedly injured his former partner by hitting her on the back of the head and slapping her. She suffered an injury to her lip.
Davis last fought in March in New York, where he defended his title after a controversial draw against Lamont Roach. The southpaw has a record of 30 wins (28 knockouts) and one draw.
