Borussia Dortmund is again quite a few points behind leaders Bayern Munich and wants to strengthen in January. BILD has understood that Hakim Ziyech is in the picture at the German club.
Ziyech (28) is in his second season at Chelsea, where he is not always sure of playing minutes. Dortmund would now like to bring him to Signal Iduna Park in January. BILD claims that Dortmund is betting on a rental deal, with an option to buy. Ziyech’s contract with Chelsea will run until the summer of 2025.
Ziyech has played ten league games for Chelsea so far this season, six of which as a starting player. In the last two duels, with Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, the attacker appeared at the kick-off. This was partly due to some corona infections in the Chelsea selection.
Ziyech was previously linked with Barcelona. In Spain it was then claimed that Thomas Tuchel was willing to let the former Ajax player go in January, but the coach called that ‘fabrications of the media’.
Besides Ziyech, Denis Zakaria (25) is also mentioned as a possible winter reinforcement for Dortmund. The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has an expiring contract and could be picked up in January for around eight million euros.
