Bocholt: Fighting message after 5:0 win – SSVg Velbert win the winter unbeaten

SSVg Velbert have managed to go into the winter break unbeaten thanks to the 1:0 in the top match against VfB 03 Hilden. But 1. FC Bocholt are in almost as good a mood and sent a verbal message of greeting to the leaders after their 5-0 win over SC Velbert.

SSVg Velbert have a zero, and they are in exactly the right column of the table for them, namely that of defeats. Even second-placed VfB 03 Hilden couldn’t find a recipe to topple Dogan’s team on Friday. At the beginning, however, Velbert was busy defensively, but goalkeeper Lenz showed himself in captivating form. Then in the 24th minute it happened on the other side: Urban sent a long cross into the Hilden half, Kaya was quickest and shot in free in front of VfB goalkeeper Lenze for 1:0. Thanks to good defensive work, Velbert were able to put the pressure on the visitors and give the 910 spectators the home victory as an early Christmas present under the tree.

The new first chaser of SSVg is now 1. FC Bocholt. They also had to deal with Velbert, SC Velbert, who are deep in the bottom of the table. FC Bocholt didn’t let anything go to waste, already in the 14th minute top scorer Platzek headed in a precise Schumacher cross for 1:0. Six minutes later Grund showed how much feeling he has in his left foot: After a quick combination, Grund ran towards the penalty area and lofted the ball softly into the net from a good 20 metres. Even though football history is rich in sensational comebacks, it was clear who would keep the points on Saturday when Beckert converted a penalty in the 23rd minute to make it 3-0. Wakamiya’s tap-in after exactly half an hour to make it 4-0 only underlined that. The final act of the Bocholt goal opera was Ferlings’ deflected shot to make it 5-0 (56th). Both coaches spoke after the game of a deserved victory. Home coach Jan Winking had already set his sights on leaders SSVg Velbert: “We will go full throttle in 2022 and do everything we can to catch up with Velbert.

Big point for TuRU Düsseldorf

As every point is taken into the promotion and relegation rounds, every game counts at the bottom as well as the top. However, the battle for a place in the top eleven is particularly fierce, as these teams will be able to play for promotion next year, although in some cases the gap to first place is so large that they can at least celebrate staying in the class at an early stage. Back to the current situation and the race around the line: Here TuRU Düsseldorf jumped back into the coveted zone. A goal by Klefisch in the 63rd minute tipped the scales away to DJK Teutonia St. Tönis. This was a bitter pill to swallow for the home side, who are now eight points behind the eleventh-placed team.

The TVD Velbert and Ratingen 04/19 are relatively comfortable in the first half. Velbert defeated FSV Duisburg 3:1. Those who went to the car park until the 80th minute will rub their eyes in surprise, because at the start of the last ten minutes the score was still 0:0. Then Duisburg’s Kayaoglu deflected a Fagasinski cross into his own goal (81st), before Fagasinksi found his teammate Gaetano five minutes later, who made it 2:0. Unlucky Kayaoglu made it tense again with his goal in the 89th minute, but in injury time Gaetano was on hand again.

Kray hope for new momentum

The Ratinger completed their away task at FC Kray with flying colours. From the start, the defence was in order and Misumi took the lead in the 24th minute. Shortly after the start of the second half, Kray’s Luka Bosnjak had to unpack a Sunday shot into the corner to stain Ratingen’s clean sheet. But the tailwind Kray had hoped for turned and blew uncomfortably in the face of the Essen district club: Demircan converted a direct free kick in the 50th minute to give Ratingen the lead again. This result lasted until well into the final phase, before the old principle of “one team presses and the other counter-attacks” was revived. Ari (85th) and Ilbay (86th) used two quick counter-attacks to score 3:1 and 4:1, leaving FCK ten points away from promotion. Coach Damien Apfeld was disappointed afterwards: “The opponent managed to expose our weaknesses with their individual quality for almost the entire duration of the game. We didn’t get into the game from the start, let Ratingen have the ball and weren’t consistent enough in our transition play.” Now Apfeld and his men want to shake things up: “It’s good for us to get into the winter break now, to be able to make some adjustments and then attack again with full vigour at the beginning of 2022.”

In the duel between two hot candidates for promotion, Sportfreunde Baumberg and SpVg Schonnebeck drew 2-2. It felt like a defeat for Baumberg, as Bloch only booked the point for Schonnebeck in the third minute of injury time. SC Düsseldorf-West and Cronenberger SC also drew (1-1), while 1. FC Kleve (5-1 after an early 1-0 deficit against TV Jahn Hiesfeld) and TSV Meerbusch (3-0 against Sportfreunde Niederwenigern) had clear home victories.

On Sunday, SpVgg Sterkrade-Nord passed on the red lantern to FSV Duisburg. Sterkrade-Nord beat 1. FC Mönchengladbach 1:0 in the basement duel. El-Dorr scored the goal of the day early on when he played a one-two with Cuhaci and then sank it flat (11th). Mönchengladbach were reduced in the final phase because Caraj was shown red after an assault (74th).
