Beiersdorfer becomes managing director of sport at FC Ingolstadt

The FC Ingolstadt has signed a new managing director. Dietmar Beiersdorfer (57) knows German professional football from many years as a player and an official.

Beiersdorfer will become managing director of sport and communications at the Schanzer. This was announced by the Upper Bavarians on Tuesday morning. The ex-national player, who played for Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen for many years, will be introduced at a press conference in the afternoon. As manager and sports director, Beiersdorfer also worked for HSV, but also for the RB Group and at Zenit St. Petersburg.

“Impetus in our current situation “

Karl Meier, chairman of the supervisory board, said of the prominent new signing at the second-division bottom club: “With Dietmar Beiersdorfer, we have been able to win an experienced professional for FCI who will be an absolute identification figure both internally and externally. In the long term, we want to build up a stable sustainability with a holistic view of the sporting area with him, but in the short term we also see his person as an important new impulse in our current sporting situation.”

Chairman Peter Jackwerth sees Beiersdorfer as “the best possible decision for this key position and our club”. The Franconian is “exactly the right man for the job with his CV and his know-how”.

Beiersdorfer wants to be “intensively involved “

Beiersdorfer himself wants to help shape the future of the FCI “with a lot of commitment and enthusiasm”: “We are in a very challenging situation, which we want to turn into a positive one with cohesion on and off the pitch. To do this, we need to combine all our efforts, motivation and courage – we are looking forward. “

After 13 match days, FC Ingolstadt is in 18th and last place in the 2nd division with only five points on the account.
