Bayern extends contract with manager Pesic

FC Bayern Basketball has extended its contract with manager Marko Pesic.

Pesic’s contract would have expired at the end of the season, but now both sides have agreed to extend their cooperation until 2025. The former national player is held in high esteem by the Munich team. “Particularly in the current very challenging times, continuity is a special value. It is undisputed that Marko and his dedicated off-ice team have ensured, even in the very difficult phase of the Corona pandemic, that basketball has developed as an important part of FC Bayern and has now also established it at a high level internationally,” said Bayern President Herbert Hainer.

Pesic has been working for the FCBB since 2011. The now 45-year-old was initially sports director and later rose to become general manager. With Pesic on board, Bayern became champions in 2014, 2018 (double) and 2019, moved into the Euroleague and now have a fixed starting right for the European elite league. The SAP Garden will also be FCBB’s new home, with the modern multifunctional arena currently under construction.

“It is no secret that this club and the development of FC Bayern Basketball are a matter of the heart for me. It’s good to know that the club continues to stand behind this exciting project in such a loyal and motivating way,” says Pesic.
