Barty dominates Australian Open quarter-finals

Melbourne – World number one Ashleigh Barty has reached the Australian Open semi-finals for the second time since 2020

The great Australian tennis hope celebrated an unchallenged quarter-final success in Melbourne, outclassing American Jessica Pegula, seeded 21st, 6-2, 6-0. The two-time Grand Slam tournament winner won the match in just 63 minutes.

Barty will meet Pegula’s compatriot Madison Keys, who defeated Czech French Open winner Barbora Krejcikova 6-3, 6-2, in the semi-finals on Thursday. Barty is aiming to become the first Australian tennis player to win the Australian Open since Chris O’Neil in 1978.
