Ban for German boxer

The native of Hamburg had repeatedly violated NADA’s control and reporting requirements from 2021 to 2022.

German amateur boxer Kevin Boakye-Schumann has been banned for 18 months by the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for violating anti-doping rules. The Hamburg native repeatedly violated the control and reporting requirements of the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) from 2021 to 2022.

However, the German Boxing Association (DBV) saw “no legal, contractual or implied legal obligation for the athlete to submit quarterly reports,” which is why NADA filed an appeal with the CAS, which has now banned the 26-year-old. Neither party has appealed to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, so the CAS arbitration award is final.

Boakye-Schumann reached the World Cup quarter-finals in Belgrade in 2021 and fought his last fight in March 2024. His fighting record in the light heavyweight division is 32 wins and 16 losses.
