Aston Villa have signed Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford has temporarily left Manchester United. The striker is expected to fill the gap left by Duran at Aston Villa.

Villa coach Unai Emery was one of the driving factors in Birmingham, although in the end they didn’t exactly try everything they could to keep Marcus Rashford beyond the transfer window in Manchester either. The 27-year-old will now go on loan to Aston Villa to score goals.

At ManUnited, he was no longer granted this after the signing of coach Ruben Amorim. By 2025, Rashford was no longer in the Red Devils’ matchday squad at all, so his double in the 4-0 win over Everton in early December were his last goals for the record champions.

Fight for the top four and CL round of 16 spot

Villa has now closed a gap in offense after the departure of Jhon Duran. The club from the West Midlands is even giving Rashford the opportunity to play in the Champions League – and in the Premier League for a place in the top 4. Both topics that have very little to do with Manchester United at the moment.

At Aston Villa, a Champions League last-16 contender, Rashford will face formidable attacking teammates such as Ollie Watkins and Donyell Malen, who was brought in from Dortmund just a few weeks ago. Manager Emery has high hopes for his versatile attackers for the rest of the season. And from Rashford, that he will find a way back to his top form from the 2022/23 season, when he scored 23 goals in Europe and the Premier League combined.
