Arsenal rewards solid season on midfield with contract extension

Mohamed Elneny seemed to be on his way to Leicester City last summer, but stayed with Arsenal. There is a good chance that the Egyptian will continue to be a player of the Gunners in the coming seasons, since the Londoners will announce through the official channels on Monday afternoon that the midfielder, without mentioning a specific number, has signed a new multi-year contract.

Elneny has been in action nine times this season in the Premier League and has been used a number of times by Arsène Wenger, especially in the last two months. The controller also played five matches in the EFL Cup, one in the FA Cup and, especially in the Europa League, made a lot of minutes. Elneny has so far entered ten games in the second European Cup and only started in the two duels with AC Milan not in the base.

According to its old commitment, the 59-fold international was stuck in the Emirates Stadium until mid 2020 and now seems to have stuck to it for a few years. Arsenal paid FC Basel 12.5 million euros in January 2016 for the midfielder, who over the past two years has acted 65 times in total for the current Premier League number six.

A good move from Arsenal?
