After Hertha exit: DFB suspends Neuendorf

On the day of his release from Hertha BSC, Andreas “Zecke “ Neuendorf has been handed a one-match ban.

Neuendorf had seen the red card in his last appearance for the time being as Pal Dardai’s assistant in Saturday’s home match against FC Augsburg. Shortly after the 1:1 equaliser of FCA in injury time, he had, according to DFB information, “behaved unsportingly on the sidelines towards the referee team”.

For this, Neuendorf was now banned from “the next championship match of his licensed club “ on Monday – just hours after Hertha parted company with him, head coach Dardai and co-coach Admir Hamzagic.

Neuendorf has already agreed to the sentence. It means that the 46-year-old ex-professional will not be allowed to be with his team inside the stadium during a match on his next coaching assignment, nor will he be allowed to make indirect contact with them.
