“A piece of the puzzle that we were missing”: Adlung returns to Fürth

Daniel Adlung will wear the shirt of SpVgg Greuther Fürth again with immediate effect. The veteran will strengthen the U 23 of the Mittelfranken team in the Bavarian Regionalliga.

287 times Adlung has already played in the 2nd Bundesliga for Alemannia Aachen, Energie Cottbus, 1860 Munich and SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Most recently, however, the 34-year-old laced up his boots in the Bavarian Regionalliga for Mittelfranken before the Fürth native moved to 1. FC Schweinfurt in the summer of 2020. After missing out on promotion in pre-season and 21 games in the first half of the current season, Adlung returns to Fürth.

“He is an anchor player who gives a team stability with his attitude and charisma “

“Adi brings experience to the team – a piece of the puzzle that we were missing in the first half of the season. He is an anchor player who gives a team stability with his attitude and charisma – he has already proven that with us,” says Mirko Reichel, sporting director in Fürth. So far, things are going more badly than good for the Kleeblättler: After only three wins from 22 games and a total of 16 points, the U 23 of the Green-Whites are in second last place in the Regionalliga.

They are five points off the relegation places. A manageable task with 16 games still to be played, for which the Fürth team also signed a new coach on Monday: Petr Ruman returns and replaces Dominic Rühl.
