33 points: Wagner leads Orlando to victory against Wembanyama

The Orlando Magic are back on the road to victory. Thanks to German national player Franz Wagner, who led all players with 33 points, the Florida team won narrowly against the San Antonio Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama.

The entire game was only separated by a few points for both teams. In the third quarter, the San Antonio Spurs took a double-digit lead for the first time (83:70).

Led by Franz Wagner, who scored all players with 33 points (14/28) and twelve rebounds, the Magic managed to catch up. In the final quarter, the lead kept changing back and forth.

However, it was Orlando’s Paolo Banchero (17, 7/17), who had had a bad evening up to then (5 TO), who had the last word. With 25 seconds left on the clock, he put his team on the road to victory with a fadeaway (112:111). Wembanyama (18, 5/11) then missed the last shot to win.

For the Spurs, the air in the fight for the play-in places is getting increasingly thinner. They are now already four wins behind the trio in ninth place. The Magic, on the other hand, have stopped their downward trend for the time being and remain in eighth place in the East.
