“TennisGermany 2032”: DTB strategy for new successes

The association recognizes changing challenges for which it wants to be prepared.

The German Tennis Federation (DTB) wants to prepare the sport for changing challenges with its new “TennisGermany 2032” strategy. The “nationwide, long-term development framework for tennis” that has now been presented is intended to “provide orientation, combine forces, and strengthen the DTB’s sports in the long term,” according to a press release from the association.

“We are currently experiencing a profound change that is affecting the entire German sports scene,” said DTB President Dietloff von Arnim: “Without a clear strategy, we run the risk of merely managing developments instead of actively shaping them.”

The basic idea behind the strategy is the self-image that current challenges can only be overcome by working together. ” Volunteers and full-time staff, regional associations and clubs, young and experienced“ would for the first time come together with a common strategic direction and common goals to make tennis in Germany ”lively, modern, and sustainable.” The strategy, which was largely developed by the DTB board around Veronika Rücker and Peter Mayer, was adopted at the DTB general meeting in November 2025.

Clear and measurable goals are to be pursued in all areas in the future. In the professional arena, the DTB aims to establish eight to ten German players in the top 100 rankings by 2032. The association is also aiming for membership growth in all age groups.
