Former tennis player Steffi Graf is taking part in an advertising campaign. She is to encourage people to exercise more for the sports equipment brand “Crivit.”
Multiple Wimbledon winner Steffi Graf has a new job: the 55-year-old is part of an advertising campaign for Lidl’s sports brand “Crivit.” Under the slogan “Find your move,” she will be promoting more exercise in everyday life in more than 30 countries starting on February 14, the company announced.
According to the industry magazine “Textilwirtschaft,” the tennis star emphasized that sport now primarily means quality of life for her. Exercise should not be defined primarily by comparison or peak performance, but by well-being and balance. According to a report on the industry website Retaildetail, Steffi Graf will not only promote tennis, but also other activities such as camping, hiking, and fitness.
Graf still the only Golden Slam winner
Stefanie Graf, as she has wanted to be called since retiring from her career, is not the only celebrity to advertise a Lidl brand. Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is the face of Lidl’s own brand “Parkside” in the DIY sector.
Graf, who hails from Brühl, is the only tennis player to have won the Golden Slam, i.e. all Grand Slam tournaments and Olympic gold in a calendar year. She won 22 Grand Slam titles between 1987 and 1999 and was ranked number 1 in the world for 377 weeks. She has been married to former tennis pro Andre Agassi since 2001, and the couple has two children. The family lives near Las Vegas.
