Just a few weeks after the crash in Nigeria, former world champion Anthony Joshua is back in the gym.
Less than three weeks after the fatal car accident in Nigeria that killed two of his friends and coaches, former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua is back in training.
Video clips on social media show the 36-year-old British boxer doing pad work, among other things, with the caption: “Mental Strength Therapy.”
On December 29, Joshua escaped with minor injuries as a passenger in a serious accident, while his long-time companions Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami died at the scene. Ghami was Joshua’s long-time strength and conditioning coach, Ayodele his personal coach.
Afterwards, there was speculation about whether Joshua might end his career.
“I think AJ is always a very positive guy,” promoter Eddie Hearn said on Sky Sports on Wednesday: “This is very different and I know he’s going to take his time. He’s going to need time, physically, mentally, emotionally, before he makes a decision about his future.”
