Back home: Dortmund’s Bueno joins Valladolid

After his loan spell at Darmstadt last season, Guille Bueno would have been back in Borussia Dortmund II’s squad. However, the Spaniard will no longer be playing for the Black and Yellows as he is returning to his homeland.

Guille Bueno played 22 games on loan for SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga last season before a muscle injury ended the regular player’s season prematurely. The Lilies would have liked to sign the defender on a permanent basis, but nothing came of it – and he will also no longer play for his home club Borussia Dortmund II, which was relegated from the 3rd division at the same time as Bueno’s spell with the Lilies.

Segunda Division instead of Regionalliga

Instead of playing in the 2nd Bundesliga or Regionalliga West, Bueno will now be able to prove himself in the Spanish second division. As announced on Sunday, the Spaniard is returning to his homeland to join Real Valladolid, where he has signed a contract until 2028. The yo-yo team from northwestern Spain was relegated to the Segunda Division, the second Spanish league, last season after finishing bottom of the table.

Four years ago, in the summer of 2021, Bueno moved from Deportivo La Coruna to Dortmund’s youth team, where he established himself after a short settling-in period. He made a total of 65 appearances for BVB’s second team in the 3rd division, scoring one goal. In addition to his appearances in the lower leagues, Bueno also made two appearances in the DFB Cup for Darmstadt. However, he never played for the BVB first team.
