Pune – Daniel Altmaier has reached the quarter-finals at the tennis tournament in Pune, India.
The 23-year-old from Kempen beat Radu Albot from Moldova 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday. Altmaier needed 2:11 hours for his success and will now meet the Portuguese Joao Sousa.
At the Australian Open in Melbourne, Altmaier was last eliminated in the first round against Olympic champion Alexander Zverev. The German number one is competing in the tournament in Montpellier this week.
