Pedro Acosta will have a new personal sponsor from 2027: Monster Energy will support the Spaniard in future, replacing Red Bull
A change of sponsorship partner for Pedro Acosta: the Spaniard has signed a personal sponsorship deal with Monster Energy. He will therefore be promoting the North American energy drink manufacturer from the 2027 MotoGP season onwards.
Since the start of his career, Acosta has been closely associated with KTM and Red Bull. However, this association comes to an end with his move to the Ducati factory team.
Monster confirmed the partnership on Thursday ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix via a social media post. A video featuring footage of the open sea and a logo combining the silhouette of a shark (Acosta’s trademark) with the word “Acosta” was used to announce the partnership.
Monster has been a sponsor of Ducati for several years now. The existing agreement with the Italian manufacturer runs until the end of 2027. For Acosta, the deal marks a personal change of sponsor after eight years with KTM.
Since 2019, the Spaniard has competed in the colours of the Austrian manufacturer and with its Red Bull sponsorship. However, he never had his own sponsorship contract with Red Bull. Nor did he receive any payments for displaying the logo on his cap, helmet or leathers. An agreement with KTM obliged him to represent the manufacturer’s sponsors.
With his association with KTM coming to an end after the current MotoGP season, Acosta now has the opportunity to secure individual sponsorship deals.

Acosta’s move from KTM to the Ducati factory team
Acosta’s move to Monster coincides with the next step in his career. After six years in the Motorcycle World Championship with KTM, including three in MotoGP, he is leaving the brand at the end of this MotoGP season.
In 2027, he will ride for the Ducati factory team. He has signed a two-year contract there and will be Marc Márquez’s new team-mate.
His association with KTM began back in 2019 in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. In his first year, Acosta finished second; in 2020, he secured the overall title. He then moved up to the Moto3 World Championship in 2021 with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team and won the title in his debut season.
In 2022, he moved up to Moto2, remaining within the same team structure. Acosta proved himself there too: in 2023, he won his second world championship with seven race victories and a total of 14 podium finishes. In 2024, the Spaniard moved up to the premier class. He made his MotoGP debut with the Red Bull KTM Tech3 satellite team, before moving up to the KTM factory team for the 2025 season.
Marc Márquez also had to leave Red Bull
From 2027, Acosta will be another high-profile rider joining Ducati who is parting ways with Red Bull as part of the move. A similar situation had already arisen with Marc Marquez.
The Spaniard had to terminate his personal sponsorship agreement with Red Bull when he moved to the Ducati works team at the end of the 2024 season. However, out of respect for Red Bull, he declined to sign a personal contract with Monster.
The partnership between Monster and Ducati is initially agreed until the end of 2027. This means that the future direction of the sponsorship is also under discussion in the medium term. In this context, rumours are circulating that Red Bull could join Ducati in two years’ time. However, there has been no confirmation of this so far, either from the energy drink manufacturer or from the Italian factory team.
