A breath of fresh air for Syntainics MBC: Milenko Bogicevic, an expert on the Bundesliga, is ready to take over as the new coach. Can he stop the losing streak and secure the team’s place in the league?
Milenko Bogicevic is tasked with leading the struggling Bundesliga club MBC back to success and securing its place in the league. The Serbian is the new coach of the club from Weißenfels and will take charge for the first time on Thursday in Ludwigsburg. The club also announced that the new coach has signed a contract until the end of the season. “From my time at Alba Berlin, I still remember the energy and passion of the team and the fans. I am looking forward to being part of it in the future. The team has potential. The task now is to find good chemistry as quickly as possible in order to secure the necessary victories going forward,” said Bogicevic.
Long-time assistant coach
Bogicevic succeeds Italian Marco Ramondino, who resigned at the end of January. Since then, sporting director Silvano Poropat had been in charge of the team, but failed to secure a single victory in the BBL. The MBC currently has ten consecutive defeats. However, thanks to a good start to the season, they are still two wins ahead of the relegation zone.
Bogicevic most recently worked for Awtodor Saratov in Russia. It was his second stint as head coach. Previously, the 49-year-old worked as an assistant coach and is already familiar with the Bundesliga. From 2012 to 2016, Bogicevic worked as an assistant at Alba Berlin, where he won the cup three times.
