After a little over four years, Forza Horizon is back. In a short trailer, developer Playground Games announced the sequel to the popular open-world racing game series – and also revealed the new location: Japan. So far, Tokyo, Mount Fuji, and Hokkaido have been confirmed.
When will Forza Horizon 6 be released?
There is no official release date yet. However, a leak has already circulated that mentions specific dates: According to this, Forza Horizon 6 is set to be released on May 19, with early access starting on May 15.
The source is considered relatively reliable, as the leak appeared directly in Forza Horizon 5, where some players apparently saw a screen displaying this information. In addition, the contents of the Premium Edition were also mentioned there. Pre-order customers will receive a VIP membership, a welcome pack, a Time Attack Car Pack, an Italian Passion Car Pack, the Car Pass, and two premium expansions, among other things.
Which platforms will Forza Horizon 6 be released on?
With Forza Horizon 5, the series was released for PlayStation for the first time in 2025. This will not be a one-time exception: the sixth installment is also set to be released for Sony’s console, but at a later date.
As publisher Xbox Game Studios confirmed in a blog post, Forza Horizon 6 will initially be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It is not yet known whether and, if so, in which version the game will be available in Game Pass. Nor is there a specific release date for the PlayStation version. However, the game will probably be integrated into Game Pass from day one, as Microsoft has done in the past. But then probably only in the “Ultimate” version.
When will gameplay be available to view?
On January 22, 2026, a new Developer Direct will take place, where several upcoming Xbox titles will be presented in more detail. Forza Horizon 6 is also part of the program – including the first gameplay scenes. Whether further details such as price or edition models will be announced during the presentation is currently still open. The price is likely to be based on its predecessor. The standard version cost $60, while the Deluxe and Premium editions cost $10 and $20 more, respectively.
