Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo immediately made his mark in his first warm-up game for EuroBasket 2025. With 25 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks, he led Greece to a 104-86 victory over Latvia in the Acropolis Tournament in Athens.
The “Greek Freak” dominated especially in the first half: In just over ten minutes, he scored 20 points on 8/9 shots, grabbed 8 rebounds and provided the highlights of the game with two dunks and difficult fadeaways. At halftime, Greece had a comfortable 61-45 lead.
The team didn’t let up in the second half either. Giannoulis Larentzakis shone with three three-pointers in a row (14 points in total), while Kostas Sloukas directed the play with 10 assists. Greece sank a total of 14 three-pointers from 26 attempts.
Porzingis remained lackluster
Latvia had better spells after the break, but never got close enough to pose a threat. Rihards Lomazs impressed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Kristaps Porzingis, on the other hand, remained lackluster and only managed 7 points with 0/4 three-pointers.
