Haas driver Esteban Ocon surprises fans with a wonderful initiative: his followers can design his helmet for the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix
The helmet is, in a sense, every racing driver’s calling card, and many drivers consider their helmet design sacred. Haas driver Esteban Ocon is now giving his fans the rare opportunity to help design his helmet for the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix. The deadline for submissions is August 31. The race will take place in November.
In a video on Instagram, the Frenchman explained: “As you know, Brazil means a lot to me, especially Interlagos. I have a lot of support there, a lot of fans and fantastic memories from 2024. That’s why I’ve come up with a little surprise for you. You get to design my helmet for the 2025 Grand Prix.”
The rules are clear: creative suggestions can be submitted until the end of August, after which Ocon will personally select his favorite. The winning design will be transferred to his helmet and used throughout the weekend at Interlagos – from practice to qualifying to the race.
Tribute to 2024
Ocon has had a particularly close connection to Brazil since last year. In 2024, he surprised everyone with a second-place finish at Interlagos and stood on the podium alongside Pierre Gasly. “I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time. Now is the right moment,” he said of the initiative.
Ocon’s main aim with the competition is to strengthen his bond with his fans. “It’s something I want to do for the fans. I’m curious to see what ideas come out of it,” said the 28-year-old.
Ocon has been driving for Haas since this season after leaving Alpine. He said of the split: “We didn’t see eye to eye in many areas, and I needed a new challenge. I’ve felt at home here right from the start.”
It’s nothing new these days for drivers to use special helmet designs for certain occasions. However, Esteban Ocon is taking things one step further with his latest move. Fans will be delighted.
